Important: Please Contact Us if you can provide ANY additional Historical Information about this car.

Note: Due to scarcity - not all equipment on car may be period correct. Certain items may need to be reproduced or sourced over the next few years. Your help in this process is requested & appreciated.

Since the car was raced over 2 decades a year had to be chosen to restore the car to - the year chosen was 1983 - the year Nick Fornoro Jr. won the ARDC Championship driving the car for Mike Scrivani.

The following are low quality "thumbnailed" images. Click on an image to view a larger version.

To decrease download times the overall "Restoration" section has been subdivided
into multiple sections with only 10 photos per page. If you are new to our site
please start at the beginning, returning visitors may forward to the later sections.

Closer view of frame & new lower aluminum panels. An exact match of the originals.

First Batch of Chrome back. Due to cost we may
spray a few temp "silver" then come back and
catch up on rest of chrome. 10/19/2002

First batch of nicely polished stainless hardware, some are a special Grade 8+ stainless. Contact me if you need Grade 8+ stainless hardware. brianwatson@teamwatsononline.com

10/20/2002 - Front shocks mounted, started to run new brake lines, bolting on new chrome & new hardware (bolts), front axle almost complete, (more seems to be happening behind the scenes than on the car). These shocks are not exactly 100% period correct. The car will be "run" with these. An original set is in the works which will be on the car when "shown".

These are the actual type of shocks that would have been on the car in 1983. These are "Gabriel" shocks with the covers cut that now have a threaded sleeve, a welded nut, a disc and a heim joint. Very innovative.

Wheels had bolts replaced with original style bolts (old stock left over from 1983) and polished by original manufacturer. (Goudy) Wheel look great and the price was right. I highly recommend them.

Two axles came with car. One for payment and one for dirt. Here is a photo of us reaming out and prepping the dirt axle. The plating on the axle will be redone when finances become available. The spindles were cleaned up and test fitted to the axle before being painted. They were painted temporarily. In the future they will also be platted.

Spindles were painted, mounted on axle, hub cleaned up, bearing cleaned & repacked, rotor polished, magnesium pressure plate was polished and coated with a clear. Tie rod spacer is from Edmunds AutoResearch. These two radius rods ware original Edmunds.

Car had two (2) updated aluminum radius rods. They were replaced by these two steel ones that were manufactured by AutoResearch for us exactly the same way as the original ones in 1983.

Here are the two (2) new radius rods mounted on the car. They will be chromed later. Right now they have been painted a temp silver. The yellow in the photo is just a reflection.
